Seattle: Straight But Very Gay-acting
We went undercover to Puget Sounds Business Journal’s East Side Executive Forum to learn about Seattle’s new tagline: Metronatural. Research has suggested that people in and out of Seattle see it as being pretty gay. The City wanted to make a clear statement that Seattle is not, in fact, gay at all, just gay-acting. To communicate this they created the word “metronatural” hoping that we would finally get the hint.
This video includes interviews with John Schuler of Exclaim LLC, the design firm responsible for the new tagline and collateral media. Also, Tom Norwalk, Senior VP Sales & Marketing, and Elias Calderon, Director of Marketing Services, of the Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau are interviewed.

I have noticed that there are numerous blogs that have panned the new “Metronatural” tagline. However, I think that the subject is handled respectfully and thoughtfully in this blog: http://blueverticalstudio.com/go/?p=2190. So go give ‘em some love!
